2014 CRCF Final Press Release 4-Day Rodeo Competition Brings in Big Crowds with Two Consecutive Sell Outs at the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair Annual May Long Weekend event celebrates a record year with Cowboys, Cook-Offs, Skateboarding and Sun! For Immediate Release (May 19. 2014) Surrey, B.C. – It was an exciting May Long Weekend as the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair celebrated its 68th year of world-class Rodeo action and 126th year of family fun entertainment at the Country Fair. “We were fortunate to have fantastic weather that brought out excited crowds throughout the entire long weekend,” said Shannon Claypool, President of the Cloverdale Rodeo Exhibition Association. “We were especially thrilled with enthusiastic rodeo crowds, that nearly sold out every performance with two back to back sellouts for Sunday and Monday’s events.” The Country Fair featured the popular third annual Cowboy Cook-Off BBQ competition that brought more than 25 teams from north to south to compete for $10,000 in prize money. The Fair also hosted the world’s top skateboarders for the 3rd annual World Freestyle Round-Up skateboarding competition. Worlds Top Cowboys Compete The 68th annual Cloverdale Rodeo showcased the world’s top cowboys and cowgirls at one of the world’s top ten rodeo events. This year, the winners split $328,000 in prize money. Caleb Bennett proved that his first place on Saturday’s competition was no fluke, as the young cowboy rode his winning streak all the way to the finals where he earned the Champion title in Bareback Riding with an outstanding score of 91.5. Cody DeMoss dominated the Saddle Bronc competition from start to finish at this year’s Cloverdale Rodeo, winning $20,000 in the finals and another impressive trophy to add to his collection. Utah native Kelli Tolbert rode her sorrel mare Cleo to victory in the Ladies Barrel Racing with an impressive time of 16.102. Tolbert takes home a grand total of $21,400 and the title of 2014 Cloverdale Rodeo Champion. It was a fierce competition, but in the end Chris Roundy from Spanish Fork, UT took home title of 2014 Cloverdale Rodeo Bull Riding Champion with a score of 90.5.
