2014 Indian Summer Music Awards (ISMA) Call For Entries MILWAUKEE, WISCONSINs Indian Summer Festivals extends an invitation and welcomes all Native American artists to submit entries to the 2014 Indian Summer Music Awards (ISMA). This year, the competitive categories include Blues, Central and South American Indigenous Music, Contemporary/Modern Instrumental, Country, Folk, Hip Hop, Native American Flute, Pop, Rock, Spiritual, Spoken Word, Traditional Instrumental, Traditional Native American Drum, Traditional Native American Vocal and lastly, the Native Spirit category for non-Indian entrants. All entries must be postmarked by April 30th and received in the ISMA office by May 15th. ISMA is run in conjunction with Indian Summer Festival and recognizes and promotes the very best in Native American music created by both established and emerging artists. This years Festival will be held Sept. 5-7 at Milwaukees beautiful lakefront Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds). Visit indiansummer.org for more details about the Festival. Indian Summer Festival and the ISMA Awards Show bring some of North Americas most talented recording artists to Milwaukee. The music awards will be presented live on Saturday, Sept. 6, with many of the nominated artists on-hand to perform their songs for the festival crowds. The ISMA show is devoted to the recognition of Native American artists who have made outstanding contributions toward indigenous peoples music in the previous year. The awards help increase the awareness of the history and diversity of both traditional and contemporary American Indian culture. Native American music is being recognized around the world and is a true statement for Native American entrepreneurship.
