2014 (Part 3 finale) year in review – My personal life has been a wonderful roller coaster ride. I have gone an entire year with me, just me. I have been able to learn a lot about myself - stuff I either never knew or I had forgotten. I still have my beautiful little brick trailer in East Point, the most incredible fur babies – Bo and Heidi, and the Chickens. We have lost a few, bought a couple, hatched some, gave away one but the Mayberry Coop is still active with Floyd – the Silkie Rooster who is so gentle and sweet, Goober the new rooster that just hatched this year, Ellie, the gold crested bantam hen who is Goobers surrogate mom, Thelma, the black cochin who is Goober’s birth mom. Aunt Bee the gold thingy, Clara the orange thingy, and Sarah the pokadoted thingy (I can’t remember what kind they all are). I made it through the East Point Citizens Police Academy with flying colors and was asked to join the EPPD Police Auxiliary Board of Directors. I have attended almost everything that the City of Hapeville has put on (movies, cocktail parties, plays, comedy, music, festivals). I actually tell people that I live in Hapeville now but sleep and pay taxes in East Point. Over half of 2014 I struggled with weight and not really liking what I saw and finally in September I made a decision to do something about it and did. I am a work in progress but am determined to hit my personal goals that I have set for myself and continue along my healthy journey. Another huge struggle was losing some very significant and important family members and friends but none as hard as losing Willie Parker, my 2Daddy. Although not my biological father, Willie was a daddy to me (for a great part of my life – over 35 years). He was so smart and knowledgeable on everything. He always accepted me and called me his son, his love for my Momma was one of the strongest bonds I have ever experienced. I miss him every day. 2014 also was a year I got to see and spend a little bit of time with my biological daddy. He is such an amazing man, he worked so hard all of his life and is now finally enjoying retirement. He and Momma Jr. take care of Maw 24/7 which is a job in itself and also take care of a beautiful little girl named Aubrey. I hope that 2015 will allow more time together. Lastly, there is me n Momma… always been a momma’s boy, only child, spoiled but our love has been made even stronger with 2014. No matter what the battle or war, we WILL conquer and not let anything take us down. To end the 2014, I finally got a new car (havent had one new since the 80s and boy have they changed), I am not fearful of travel any longer. As I sit here on the Eve of the New Year, I reflect back on this year. I have not one regret, I am a better person now than I was a year ago but will be even better in 2015, I pray for my family and friends to have a wonderful blessed new year. Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Careful, Be Respectful, Be a light in this dark world. I wish each of you a Happy New Year (because I will most probably be asleep when the midnight hour hits). I love you all. Sweet dreams.
