2014 Summer Recreation Program - Recreation Program Instructor - Day Camp DEPARTMENT: Recreation & Culture FILE NO.: 2013-0248 LOCATION: Various Locations NO. OF POSITIONS: Various RATE OF PAY: $15.82 POSITION STATUS: Temporary Part-time DEADLINE DATE: Friday, March 14, 2014 HOURS OF WORK Varied DUTIES: Under the direction of the designated Supervisor of Community Programming, the instructor will teach and supervise programs while ensuring a safe, clean environment. Will provide program planning, program implementation and student evaluations. Incumbent will maintain excellent customer service and public relations at all times. Incumbent will maintain statistical data (i.e., class lists, attendance, etc.). Incumbent will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporate Health & Safety Program. Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a minimum of 16 years at time of employment. Must have completed an Ontario Secondary School Grade 10 education or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency. Must have over three (3) months experience in sports/recreation field working with children. Must hold as a condition of employment a current Standard First Aid and CPR Basic Rescuer (Level C) certificate for the full term of your summer employment. Will be required to complete as a condition of employment, the Play Leadership Training and Principles of Healthy Child Development training.
