2014 had been a great year for MTF. Its the year we made a determined kickstart in hope of a stronger-than-ever relation between the people of Malaysia and Turkey. Some of our success stories for this year: 1. Our work trip to Turkey in winter early this year was a triumph; MTFs vision and missions was introduced to various segments of Turkey. We met important people in the government, NGOs, and individuals. All of them were looking forward to start working with us, for the people of Turkey and Malaysia. 2. Also during the winter, we had successfully arranged our first specially customised trip and tour in Turkey for Malaysian students studying in Egypt. MTF since then had opened up its offer and packages to those interested in doing a specific type of trip (business, education, historical, etc) to everywhere in Turkey (Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Konya, Cappadocia, etc). Group trip will be given special price. 3. In April, we organised the International Muslim Thinkers Conference (IMTC 2014) along with ISMA (Malaysian Muslim Solidarity) and TAIM (Turk-Arab Relation Center). This conference managed to gather more than 40 Muslim scholars, thinkers, and intellectuals to discuss the problem of Muslim world, particularly in Middle East region. Turkey was represented by a member of parliament of AK Party, Mr Osman Oren. 4. Mid year, again we managed to organise a customised trip for NGOs from Malaysia. ISMA (Malaysian Muslim Solidarity) and PEMBINA (National Muslim Youth Association, Malaysia) were arranged to have various visits in Turkey relating to their interests (society, education, history, youth). Among the places that were visited are Turkish NGOs office and research centres. 5. In August, Mr. Qamarul Naim Mohd Faizal, CEO of MTF went to Turkey to personally deliver his congratulatory letter to Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the new President of Turkey, and to Dr Başbakan Ahmet Davutoğlu, the new Prime Minister of Turkey. He met Mr Erdogan and Dr Davutoglu personally and was invited to the appointment ceremony of both. 6. In November, MTF together with TAIM TAIM (Turk-Arab Relation Center) and ISMA (Malaysian Muslim Solidarity) had successfully managed an international conference for Kuala Lumpur Summit. Kuala Lumpur Summit is a platform of Muslim intellectuals and leaders to discuss and exchange ideas on the issues revolving in the Muslim world. The conference was chaired by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed (who was also appointed as the Chairman of Kuala Lumpur Summit) and the issue of civil state from Islamic perspective was significantly explored and debated. 100 participants came from more than 14 countries representing political parties, universities, governments, and Islamic NGOs. Turkey was represented by Mr. Bilal Macit and Mr Bulent Turan, MPs from AK Party. We are looking forward to a new year full of opportunities to strengthen the brotherly tie of the people of Malaysia and Turkey. The whole world awaits the advancement of both of these exemplary Islamic countries. May Allah accept all that we have done in the past, and open a new bright path for us in the future. Thank you.
