2014 is almost in the history books. It had some valleys, but far more peaks. The things/places I had the opportunity to see and the people I have spent time with have truly been remarkable. I wouldn’t trade any experience over the past 12 month for anything. (Except, I would have liked to see Alex Gordon waved home in the 9th inning of Game 7. I understand the arguments for and against, just a weak pop out wasn’t a very climatic ending.) ACTION ITEMS FOR 2015: 1) I’m going to surround myself with people who are actually happy and fun. I actually started making this transition 6 months ago after realizing my priorities/expectations were not aligned with those who I previously used as a benchmark. If you give me a self-help book or send me a link to a mindbodygreen article, I will ignore it. I will not be goose-stepping my way through 2015 simply to conform to some spreadsheet, calendar or other expectation that is not directly tied to living a happy and fulfilled life simply because that is “what the book says.” 2) Operation “Eliminate Aloofness” will be rolled out in full force. 3) Learn to play Bridge. (Probably the only remaining Country Club activity I’m not at able to at least fake my way through.) 4) Climb a 14’er in Colorado. 5) Keep a calendar/diary of my activities. 6) Consider adopting a pet.
