2015: Amaechi’s Aides, NASS Members Lead APC C’ttees — Jul 23, 2014 Aides of Rivers State governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and members of the National Assembly were yesterday inaugurated as chairmen of working committees of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2015 general elections in the state. The governor’s aides include the commissioner for Information and Communication Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, the attorney-general and commissioner for Justice Wogu Boms, commissioner for Lands Ezemonye Ezekiel-Amadi and the aole Administrator of the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority, Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam, are chairmen of Publicity /Media, Legal Matters, Electoral Matters, and Finance Committees, respectively. Also, members of the National Assembly, including the senators representing Rivers South East and Rivers West districts, Magnus Abe, and Wilson Ake as well as the members representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro and Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituencies in the House of Representatives, Dakuku Peterside and Dawari George, are heading the Research/Planning, Disciplinary, Contact and Monitoring Committees of the party, respectively. Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Port Harcourt, Governor Amaechi urged the leadership and members of the committees to work assiduously to ensure the APC liberates the state in 2015, so as to bring in the much needed change. The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Tele Ikuru, said: “Because, we have specially selected each and every one of you, the livewire of this party has been given into your hands. Individually and collectively, the success of this party from this moment on is in your hands. “What you will do, will determine if we are going to succeed or if we are going to fail. If your responsibility is to raise resources, please, do it as if it is the last job you have to do on earth, and as much money as possible. If your job is to mobilise the people of Rivers State, put everything into it as if your life depends on it.”
