2015 GUBER ELECTION: UKPE ANIOMA DECLARES SUPPORT FOR TONY OBUH Ukpe Anioma, the light of the Aniomas, a non- governmental organization which is a Delta North Socio-political pressure group has come out strongly in support of Sir Anthony Obuh who recently resigned his position as a Permanent Secretary in the government of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to participate in the upcoming Delta State gubernatorial contest. In a statement released at his country home in Igbodo, Ika North East LGA of Delta State, after an exhaustive meeting of members, Chief Joe Obuseh, Ikejiani of Igbodo and National Leader of Ukpe Anioma announced the decision of Ukpe Anioma to give 100% support to Sir Tony Obuh in the forthcoming gubernatorial race. It will be recalled that Ukpe Anioma was formed to unify all like-minded sons and daughters of the Delta North senatorial district and focus their mind towards encouraging good governance not only in Anioma land but in Delta State as a whole. The group seeks to encourage the spirit of fairness, equity and social justice such that the interest of the Aniomas is not short changed. Ukpe Anioma will support selfless and patriotic politicians who sincerely seek to improve the lot of the citizenry in Delta State. “Having surveyed the political landscape with its searchlight, Ukpe Anioma has identified Sir Tony Obuh as the man who can deliver and serve all Deltans loyally, as he had done in his 32 years of civil service without blemish,” he said. “As a senior permanent secretary in Governor Uduaghan’s office, he was involved in the formulation of virtually all the developmental policies and projects of the government. Who best to continue and improve on where Uduaghan left off than Sir Tony Obuh, the efficient technocrat? These are some of the reasons why the teeming members of Ukpe Anioma now support Sir Tony Obuh,” he said. Chief Obuseh therefore appealed to all Deltans to throw their weight behind Sir Tony Obuh as an aspirant who has distinguished himself as a sound technocrat without any political baggage. The political stalwart once more lauded the efforts of President Jonathan for his steadfastness in the total transformation of the country and calls on all Deltans to support his re-election in 2015.
