2015 Interaction Awards open for submissions! Dear Local - TopicsExpress

2015 Interaction Awards open for submissions! Dear Local Leaders The 2015 Interaction Awards is now open for submissions! In its fourth year, the Interaction Awards recognize and celebrate examples of excellence in Interaction Design across domains, channels, environments and cultures. We’re excited to continue inspiring the global Interaction Design community to share, discuss and celebrate excellence. 30 pieces of work is awarded for outstanding work that embody and improve meaningful relationships between people and the products and services they use, exemplifying outstanding interaction design. As previously, work can be submitted in the following six categories: optimizing, engaging, empowering, expressing, connecting, and disrupting. Winners from previous years include everything from small agencies and start-ups to large consultancies and global brands, all evaluated by the most respected people in the business. New this year The 2015 Interaction Awards will broaden the stage for excellence in interaction design with the introduction of the Interaction Design Yearbook - a showcase for all the good design work going on in interaction design around the world, not just the winning entries. All shortlisted entries will be showcased in the yearbook and will form part of a body of commentary, articles and discussion aimed at expanding our understanding of contemporary design practice and what good looks like, right around the world. In addition, we are shifting the honorary awards slightly, renaming them Best in Show - Production and Best in Show - Concept, to further distinguish between work done with- and without any real-life constraints. Last, but not least; we have changed the price structure of the Awards to lower the threshold for entries for students and pracitioners from outside the typical IxD/UX strongholds by allowing them to submit one free project. Although this presents an economic risk for our not-for-profit initiative we hope it will bring us even closer to democratizing the awards and IxDAs goal of improving the human condition by advancing the discipline of Interaction Design The Jury An extraordinary group of IxD thought leaders has been gathered from all over the world to evaluate work in the most prestigious awards in Interaction Design. This year’s jury will be lead by Industry titan Dr. Richard Buchanan. He is joined by Dina Mehta (Convo, India), Lavrans Løvlie (Live|Work, Norway), Kim Lenox (IxDA, USA), Jeremy Yuille (RMIT, Australia), Amy IP (Tencent, China) and we are awaiting final confirmation on our last juror. Stay tuned on awards.ixda.org for this announcement. Your mission, should you choose to accept it We know there is a lot of fantastic work being done in your respective communities!
