2015:OKIGWE ZONE DESERVES EFFICIENT REPRESENTATION AT THE SENATE- UWAJIMOGU The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu has put paid to the various speculations relating to his next political move come 2015. He revealed that he will be hearkening to the demand of his people to represent them at the Red Chambers come 2015. This is a fallout of the consultations he has been carrying out over the last few months, where he said he was humbled by the massive acceptability he received from his people from all walks of life. The soft spoken and philanthropic legislator said he will be relying on his over two decades of political mentoring and active political participation as he looks forward to a successful election come 2015. The Speakers aspiration to the Senate has also received massive endorsement from a cross section of youths across the six local government areas in Okigwe zone. Some of the youths interviewed were optimistic that Chief Benjamin Uwajimogu will ensure that Okigwe zone is given its place in Federal allocation of projects and Federal Government funded empowerment schemes which the other Senatorial zones in the State have been enjoying. One of such youths, Comrade Ugochukwu Orjiako from Ehime Mbano said: Uwajimogu will make a great Senator for our people. We do not feel like we have anybody at the Senate at present, because our present Senator is a bench warmer who is obviously lacking the vigour and creativity required of a top legislator. Admitted, the APC is an unpopular Party in this part of the country, but Uwajimogu has done so well for the people of Okigwe and empowered several youths Imo State and beyond, that even if he was to contest under a goat Party, our people shall vote for him. Pressed further on the chances of other aspirants under the PDP, the youth leader who brandished his PDP membership card to drive home the point that there are few youths who can be more PDP than himself, said that there is none of such aspirants who can command the landslide goodwill at the disposal of Benjamin Uwajimogu. Uwajimogu is an institution on his own, and people follow him wherever he goes. I am sure that the PDP will have easy victories across Okigwe zone, but it will take an unprecedented kind of political magic for anyone to defeat Chief Ben Uwajimogu in the Senatorial race. Many of the PDP leaders in this zone are very comfortable with him, and I am sure that many of them will stand behind him in the election.
