2015: Plot to overthrow Sambo Thickens *As Muazu’s posters flood Abuja Posters of the National Chairman of thePeoples Democratic Party (PDP), were yesterday seen pasted around the federal secretariat and in strategic corners in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The posters which were pasted in broad day light indicated, “2015 Alh. Adamu Muazu, for Presidency” . This is sequel to earlier media reports accusing the PDP chairman of eyeing the number one seat in the nation. However our source said the posters were a necessary collateral by the Adamu Muazu support group to indicate to prove the National Chairman’s weight to Goodluck Jonathan, as his real interest is Namadi Sambo’s job. According to a source close to the PDP Chairman, the target was the Vice Presidency which will strategically position him for 2019 presidency when Jonathan edges out at the expiration of his tenure, but if the plot to replace Sambo fails then he will gladly throwing his cap and join the race for the ticket under the PDP. This is coming just days after the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan by governors of the PDP. Muazu was earlier quoted to have declared the presidency open to all contestants in opposition to general stakeholders belief of Jonathan’s sole candidacy. This is even as supporters of the Vice President over the weekend called on him to take over from his boss. The gathering which took place in Bauchi had demanded that Sambo threw in his hat for the race considering the fact that he was very qualified to take over from Jonathan. According to our source, this is also a plot conceived and hatched by the Vice President’s closest aides so as to unsettle the president and indicate the Vice President’s importance. It is worthy to note here that the vice president Namadi Sambo’s position has been an issue of negotiation between the presidency and northern elders for quite a while with many state governors indicating interest for the position in exchange for their support and loyalty.
