2015 QLD State Track Championships (Under 19, Elite and Paracycling) We can be very proud of the SCCC representatives at these championships - PBs, medals, team and individual performances that had our club admired with very high regard by the QLD Track Cycling Community. With the Day 2 program cancelled due to the storms in Brisbane on Thursday, the schedule of events was revised for Friday and Saturday with earlier starts and later finishes to get through the program. The weather was cooperative to allow the championships to conclude on time. Although the number of competitors in some events was small, every division was very competitive and made for exciting spectating, including our 2 Pursuit Teams. Our U19 Team (Kristina Clonan, Jordan Hoffmann, Jake Van der Vliet & Patrick Kennedy) were the only U19 team so their race was against the State Record. They were awarded a Bronze Medal for their time which was within 11% of the State record time. These 4 riders are all in their first year of the U19 division so they are already looking to improve their result next track season. Our Elite Mens team of Sam Allen, Joe White, Ben Price & Daniel Fitter won the Gold Medal, their very slick ride taking them to within 5 seconds of breaking a 30 year State Record. Super ride boys !!
