2015: Screening committee clears Orubebe ABUJA— THE former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe has been cleared by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to contest the party’s gubernatorial primaries for Delta State. The PDP Zonal screening committee for the South-South led by its Chairman, Ambassador Obed Wadzani, Saturday, in Port Harcourt gave Orubebe clean bill to contest the December 7 and 8, 2014 primaries. A statement confirming the development by Orubebe Governorship Campaign Organisation in Abuja, said, “Amongst more than fifteen aspirants from the three senatorial districts of Delta State, Elder Orubebe is the only governorship hopeful for the party’s ticket from the Delta South Senatorial District. The district incidentally is the home base of incumbent governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. It will be recalled that the former Minister resigned his appointment in February this year to pursue his governorship ambition. Consequent upon this, he formally declared his ambition in Asaba, the Delta State capital on November 6, 2014.
