203 total shares of the funding page, for $1,465 of $5,000 Raised by 27 people in 1 day so far. I could really just break down over how generous friends and strangers alike are being. I keep thinking of things I lost, just now realized my motorcycle keys are gone, as well as my VERY expensive helmet which half valentines day present from a former GF many years ago, and on and on and on and on and on.... Went and looked at the property and the scrappers had almost finished, nothing was there but a few piles of trash and the black scorched earth. I found a few items. A suet feeder my dad made himself, absolutely unscathed! (made of pine, was in the van which was itself melted flat to the ground. Explain that miracle!), the old tired shovel that hung in my gold store, which i got for trading a dear friends father, also a dear friend, a brand new shovel for, and a metal whale sculpture I made in 8th grade shop. My first aid kits, scorched, but still usable in a REAL emergency, the cover of an antique paperback I had collected once called Pirate Woman and that was about it. Just crazy how I keep realizing things are gone. I did receive some money yesterday from someone I consider a true hero and role model, and used it today to buy some immediately needed warmer clothing, underwear and socks, a pair of non-dress casual daily shoes and a pair of sneakers, all needed because I was in knock off crocs when the fire happened, and now important thanks to the sudden cold spell here, as well as an all purpose sleeping bag (brand new $15!!!) and some pillows, pillow cases, and a towel and some dollar store two-for-a-buck flip flops and a pair of jeans, and a mid weight coat shirt jacket thing that I will wear two seasons a year here, to replace my beloved and heavily used quilted flannel that used to be my fathers. The cashier, a man about 30 named Trent, heard a bit of my story as I checked out and asked for my name and phone number, as he has some ideas which might help and would get back to me Im betting ten dollars he is a pastor or involved with a local church. He just had that vibe to him. He was mysterious, but not creepy when he took my number. Well see. Laundry soap, Burn ointment recommended by the walmart pharmacist and gas to ride around, plus a treat of taco bell. Found out it will only be $391.82 for the estimated repair to my landladys car which I hit with the RV trying to move it out of the burning field as fast as possible while it too was consumed by flames and was relieved it would be so cheap to put a new door on a toyota camry. Good old country body shops ;) I still have some cash. $200 goes a very long way when you hit the right joints to shop and know how to live at the poverty line in style. Now, prepping to shower, and wash up, put on some much desired clean clothing that doesnt smell like smoke and get ready to drive to Charlotte from Marion so I can get back to the office tomorrow. All in a days life rebuilding. Thank you and love to all for everything everyone is doing for me right now. All my
