205th Hero Corps Press Release - 27JAN14 Joint meeting for evaluation of election sites held in Kandahar A joint meeting of security forces and district sub governors from Kandahar province was held Sunday at the 205th Hero Corps headquarters to evaluate the threat to the election sites in Kandahar province for the upcoming 2014 presidential and provincial elections. In this meeting, head of the Peace Council, head of elections, district sub governors and ANP commanders were present. The meeting started with the reciting of holy verses of the Quran and Afghan National Anthem Sub governors, council directors, ANP commanders and ANA commanders from each district in Kandahar province presented their report about the problems in their areas of responsibility related to security. Later, Kandahar’s head of elections and head of peace council talked about the importance of peaceful elections, and the election bringing fortune to Afghanistan. They thanked the ANSF for their hard work, returning election sites, previously under threat, to safe and normal. In the end of the meeting, Brig. Gen. Sadi Exo, 205th Hero Corps, expressed satisfaction about the coming election and said the enemy in the area is very weak, and do not have capacity to stand against Afghan security forces. He said he wanted to pass a message to the people that their security forces are in service to them day and night, and will secure all election sites with the help of other Afghan security forces.
