20th September, 2013 Six boards to review cops’ recruitment in Punjab Lahore: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has given approval to constitute six Review Boards headed by retired session’s judges to implement the merit policy for transparent recruitment of more than 5,000 police constables in various districts of Punjab. Review Boards would take action in case of violation of rules and regulations with regard to physical fitness and measurements etc. Retired sessions Judge Muhammad Aslam would be the head of Review Board for Attock, Jhelum and Rawalpindi districts while Additional IG Punjab Sarmad Saeed would be its member Review Board of Gujranwala and Sheikhupura would be headed by District and Sessions Judge ® Syed Maroof Ahmad Ali and Ahmad Raza Tahir Additional IG Special Branch would be its member. Review Board of Bahawalpur and Rahimyar Khan districts would consist of District and Sessions Judge ® Malik Muhammad Afzal and DIG Nawaz Warraich, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur districts review board would consist of District and Session Judge ® Muhammad Saleem Qureshi and DIG Aftab Cheema. Sargodha, Mianwali and Faisalabad districts Review Board would consist of District and Sessions Judge ® Abdul Hafeez and Commandant Punjab Constablulary Capt ® Zubair Ahmad while District and Sessions Judge ® Muhamamd Ashraf and Additional IG Investigation Muhammad Amlaish would listen to the complaints of candidates in Review Board Lahore. Chief Minister had directed IGP Punjab to make transparent recruitment and in this connection he directed IGP Punjab and field officers to leave no stone unturned for ensuring recruitment on merit. On the instructions of Chief Minister, a private agency is conducting written test instead of police department for recruitment of police constables and this special test is being conducted on the pattern of entrance tests for engineering and medical with the collaboration of National Testing Service, University of Engineering and Technology and University of Health Sciences. Complete scrutiny of the successful candidates in written test would be ensured before interviews with regard to the moral character and the candidates who would not come up to the required standard would be declared unfit for employment.
