21 November 1974: William James Burns, 39-year-old Protestant civilian, married with 5 children and a bakery worker was found on the back seat of his Hillman Avenger car on Aspley Street. The inquest was told that Mr. Burns left his home at his usual time of 6:30PM to go to work for the night shift at the Inglis bakery in Eliza Street. Twelve hours after he left home, his body was found by workmen. It was believed that as he was about the enter the bakery, when he was abducted by the IRA in the immediate vicinity of the bakery. The June 1975 inquest was told by Mrs. Burns that he husband was a Protestant who had been threatened several times about working in the Catholic Markets area. Mr. Burns was from Davarr Avenue, Dundonald. LEST WE FORGET!
