217th Meeting: It was a wonderful Saturday evening with great enthusiasm and zeal of the members and learning in depth the basics of “Real Estate” by our Toastmaster of the Day, Sanjeev Kumar. A fabulous work done by Sanjeev who was well rehearsed and thorough in the theme. Table Topic session was conducted by our veteran toastmaster Shouvik Datta, who as always found new ways to conduct table topisc session thus inspiring and amazing all. This time he used various quotes by renowned personalities which made the whole session interesting and humorous as well. Two Great speeches by Rakesh Kumar and Anayna Singh. An exemplary work displayed by both of them who forced the members and guests to think that by practice and only practice, it’s easy to master the art of public speaking. And finally it was time for evaluation round. Good work done by Arun Kumar and Shilpi Kumar who evaluated the speech of Rakesh and Ananya respectively. They evaluated the speech very thoroughly and followed the CRC approach and encouraging the speakers. And finally our General Evaluator of the day, ex-president Mr. Sandeep Raturi known for his exemplary communication and evaluation skills evaluated the whole conduct of the meeting. Great work done by Sandeep, as always. Following are the few mantra’s which were commended/recommended in yesterday’s meeting so that those who missed the meeting can also keep these in mind and achieve greater heights: 1) Practice and only practice is the key to have good communication skills 2) Try to play with vocal variety as per the demand. 3) Try to interact with audience during the speech so that listeners are not bored and remain involved. 4) Try to use examples to substantiate your ideas. 5) Keep in mind the time-limit. Be loud, crisp and clear to express your thoughts and feelings. We had 5 guests as well who provided fantastic and encouraging feedback after the conclusion of the meeting. EDTM ROCKS!!!!
