21st Annual Cemetery Workday May 11 event to feature traditional lunch, and beautification. Every May, the Annual Bryan City Cemetery Workday brings together volunteers who desire to beautify the city’s oldest cemetery. This year the event will be held on Saturday May 11, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The traditional noon lunch will be held on the cemetery grounds, located at 1100 North Texas Avenue, near the Astin Chapel. The Bryan City Cemetery will provide drinks and dinnerware, and hotdogs, while participants are asked to bring a main dish, side dish or dessert to share. The city will provide topsoil for families wishing to add it to their property. Those wishing to participate should bring hand tools. About the Bryan City Cemetery The Bryan City Cemetery was established in 1868 and occupies more than 50 acres in North Bryan.
