22 January, Thursday 😄 U.S mkt : U.S stocks ended higher in choppy day on Wednesday as investors expects the ECB to deliver on monetary stimulus at its key meeting on thursday. Stocks turned higher after media reports said ECB is considering a bond buying program of aboyt €50bil a mth to help revive the flagging eurozone economy. European mkt : European Stocks finished higher on Wednesday as speculation mounted about the size and timing of a sovereign bond buying program expected to be unveiled by ECB today. Gold : Gold prices rose on Wednesday after data showed that the number of building permits in U.S fell unexpectedly in December. Crude oil : Crude oil prices rose on Wednesday as investors returned to mkt to cover short position ahead of the ECBs monthly policy meeting today. KLCI : Mkt surged almost 20pts on late buying of selected bluechips on wednesday as investors sentiment recovered on expectation on ECBs stimulus plan and after BOJ maintained its money printing target. Crude palm oil : Msia palm oil futures fell on Wednesday after worries over monsoon floods Borneos key palm growing areas triggered technical selling in the tropical oil.
