22 days and 5,537 miles: This is an expense log my parents kept for a family trip from LA to the Pacific Northwest, I think in the early 70s. The Marina Inn in Sacramento received an excellent rating from my mom, even at the steep price of $16.80 a night, though youll see we spent a lot of nights in cabins or the tent. My parents must have been restocking the family liquor supply on Aug. 13, with a rather extravagant $15 expense for booze. That was probably enough to last them till we returned home (!) at 7 PM on Aug. 26. Keep it rolling and always note the mileage, if you please!
