22 months ago I agreed to a temporary foster as it was an emergency pull . This rough looking dog with a missing tail, chewed up ears his lower lip detached appeared at Petsmart. He was kind of a hot mess. He came home and set up housekeeping in my dining room. He had never lived indoors, evident by the frequent urination on my doorways and corners. He jumped at the windows to escape the confinement living in a house brought. I would frequently find him hiding behind my bushes those first few days. He had terrible parasites which gave frequent trips outside at all hours of the night. He had heartworm and we learned a lot about each other during his months of crate time . I knew he would be mine until he left this world. I had hoped he would find a family to call his own as you always hope when you foster but deep down Rhett was my boy. Rhett passed away very peacefully at 1pm surrounded by people who became his family and by the ones who loved him dearly . Over the past 22 months he became healthy, bonded with humans and found love and happiness . He fulfilled his purpose in life and it was time for him to move on. We will love you forever Rhetty Rhett.
