238th Marine Corps Birthday Ball Free State Marine Detachment Bowie, Maryland Friday, November 8th @ 6 to 9 p.m. We will be celebrating the 238th Maine Corps Birthday on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8th, 2013 starting @ 6:00 p.m. with appetizers and fellowship at the DAV Hall in Bowie, Maryland. Since the dinner was such a big success last four years, we contacted Shoreline Seafood and they will again be providing our dinner meal for us. The Menu will be a Surf ‘N Turf as follows: The cost of the meal will be $30.00 per person. Deadline is Wednesday, November 6th. New York Strip Steak (9 oz) Stuffed Shrimp (3) Baked Potato—Green Beans Rolls & Butter Soft drinks, beer and wine The steaks will be grilled to order at the DAV. They will be set up outside the back door just like they do for the seafood/crab feasts. We will have a fellowship hour with appetizers from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A short business meeting from 7:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and then dinner will be served. The formal cake cutting ceremony will take place following dinner and then dessert will be served. Our guest speaker for the evening has not yet been confirmed. We are asking for members to furnish the appetizers. So if you have a favorite and would like to share, please call and let me know what you are going to bring. The dress for the evening will be on the formal side: Red Blazer, or Suit and tie. The ladies will wear a nice cocktail dress or equivalent.
