23rd October Philippians 2 verses 25-30: (please read) Epaphroditis, a member of the church at Philippi, was asked to take things from the congregation, to Paul imprisoned in Rome. Paul writes fo the Philippians, Epaphroditis became seriously ill in Rome, near to death, having risked his life to complete what he was asked to do. Paul wanted the church to take care of him, and Paul must have been concerned (v27: Indeed he was ill and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow). Then he asks them to welcome him with great joy and honour men like him. How powerful is that? How close it is to people who share hospitality to our church family, or go and visit someone in the Lord wherever they are. Many churches visit those whom they support elsewhere, yes even those in prison today. I have known people who have gone out to send greetings from one church to another and yes, sometimes many have been taken poorly. Please thank the Lord for all who serve the Lord, for serving others, however, whatever they do, because they are doing it because of the Love given to us, to give to others and Glorify God (doing as God asked of us! May we honour all as Paul said, Welcome Him with great joy and honour men/women, all, like Epaphroditis. In this I also include for us to pray for all in our churches who serve quietly doing things we do not think about, care for the Pastors, Leaders, etc and ultimately us when we meet to share our time together. Others have made it a home for us to Praise and Worship our Lord. Please Lord may we always remember to thank all for who they are, and the calling on their lives, whatever they do. Bless and encourage them all and dont ever let us take them for granted, it is for our blessing, they serve in faith and all to your Glory, in Jesus name, Amen!
