24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST (5PM, 30 January 2014) SYNOPSIS: at 4:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Depression “Basyang” was estimated based on all available data at 1,108 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Norte (8.6°N, 136.4°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move west at 30 kph. FORECAST: Eastern and Central Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and Visayas will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the northeast to north over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
