25/9: We left Zahedan on schedule and presented ourselves at the Gumruk at the border at 8 am. Our fixer Hadi was the youngman who helped us on the Lahore to London trip also. He is sharp and surgical and we are all done and through at 11 an. We crossover into Pakistan and we want to get off the bike and kiss the ground. i have water in his eyes as he spies the green and white crescent and star flying proud in the strong breeze. Our well wishers have done their job too well. The immigration is done in 5mins the FC havaldar is standingby to escort us to meet the FC wing cdre in Taftan and mister Lehri of the customs will not let us go untill we pay our respects to Mr Mushtaq Jamaldini the Deputy Superintendent of customs in Taftan. Mr Jamaldini offers a quick lunch we accept. After lunch we go to see the FC wg cdre. We spend some time with col Ishtiaq and then set course for Dalbabin at 130 pm. It is hot at 43.5degC .The road to Nokundi is very bad and all the harsh bumps finally got the better of BGs tail light which just broke clean off its mounting.. After Nokundi the road was good. The army friends had organised a security detail to accompany us from Taftan to Dalbandin. It got dark around 630 am. We reached Dalbandin at 7 pm 193 miles in 5.5 hrs. The FC Commandant of the Dalbandin Rifles met us and very graciously invited us to dinner at his house. He made his son call me and wanted to know about travels.. we also got to listen to a local Sarrangee player. It was amazing. Their generosity made us feel like we had done something big :)
