25 April 2014: A WHALE SHARK ON SCUBA TODAY, ON PROTEA BANKS ... YES YOU READ CORRECTLY - NOT A WHALE AND A SHARK ... YES A WHALE SHARK! IF YOU WERE NOT ON THE DIVE ... OOPS! Viz: 15m + on first dive dropping down to about 10m on second dive (got very milky) Sea Temp: 24 degrees Celsius Current: Strong Sightings: First dive: NORTHERNS Reef was very pretty lots of reef fish and 2 Potato Bass. And then as we started coming up, at about 20m, A WHALE SHARK ... just casually come in to say Hi and then left ... OH MY F***K ... I could not believe my eyes ... OH my F**K what a experience ... FOR SURE THE MOST INCREDIBLE DIVE EVER .... such a happy diver right now ....BIG SMILE!!!!! Also a couple of Remoras that stayed around and some awesome jellies!!! WHAT CAN I SAY, THIS IS WHY PROTEA BANKS IS SO SPECIAL ... always full of a few surprises!!! Second dive: SOUTHERNS Reef so alive and full of reef fish. A Potato Bass. 1 baby Guitar shark. Hundreds and hundreds of Bonita. And an Oceanic Blacktip that come to say Hi on the safety stop, plus some jellies I have never seen before. Dolphins seen from boat. WHAT CAN I SAY.
