25 years ago I began to study sleep patterns of graveyard shift work which naturally dove tailed into circadian rythms/dream mechanics(including meanings if any). I have also participated in several sleep studies over the last couple years that focused on R.E.M. Sleep and deprivation. Ive come to the conclusion that %90-%95 dreams have no meaning and are simply bits of random memories recorded in the brain. Everything we see think hear feel and taste is recorded from the time we could process images. What about the remaining %5-%10? Hmmm...those are tricky. These are the dreams that have been known to have profound emotional and sometimes physical conscious state. These are more often connected to night mares but not limited to. The Neuro-Sciences have found that the brain itself is unable to differentiate between what is real and what is fantasy, therefore we rely on what we conceive as logic and reason. With that been said, last night I had one of my nightmares that is one of only two different themes. What set this one apart is that I was completely aware of all 5 senses which to the best of my memory has never happened. Its actually very common for dreams to have at least taste, smell and sometimes sound missing. This nightmare was my most common End of the World/Apocalyptic theme but played out in two very different scenarios. I only slept 3 hours and was very shaken for about 2.5 hours after I woke from this dream. Analysis and comments are encouraged(as well as the inevitable smart ass comments I know are coming) Gather amongst yourselves and discuss
