25 years ago today, August 9, 1988, I was in Concord, New Hampshire as the sports director of WNHT-TV. I remember the day because Alan Napier, who played Alfred the Butler in the Batman TV series passed away at the age of 85…and the Edmonton Oilers traded Wayne Gretzky to the Los Angeles Kings. We contacted Kings’ coach Robbie Ftorek, who was vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee (N.H.) and he agreed to meet me and videographer Tony Venti for an exclusive interview at the Hooksett Toll Plaza rest stop on his way to a charity softball game in Boston. The interview made CBS News. A happy memory.
