25 years ago today (Friday) I stood on the sub piers awaiting my future husbands arrival from his last cruise. It had taken a lot of maneuvering to get me off of work from the Ford Plant that night, but thanks to Martin W. Ball, I was able to meet Tom Margrave when he got off the USS Atlanta in Norfolk. Having never had anyone there to greet him on the pier in the 6 years he was in the Navy, he had decided during the course of the 4 week cruise that if I was there waiting for him, he would ask me to marry him... it would turn out to be a very eventful week....
