25th International Tourist Guide Day: Free guided tours in Italy from February 15 to February 23, 2014 Our site offers all aficionados a showcase of the activities sponsored by the tourist guides in all Italian cities from the 15th to the 23rd of February 2014, on the occasion of the International Tourist Guide Day, which is celebrated every year on February 21st. This initiative of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations and promoted in Italy by the National Tourist Guides Association, started 25 years ago to enhance the competence of the tourist guides who daily devote themselves to present the rich heritage of our country to visitors coming from all over the world. It is also our aim to explain to visitors that it is their legal right to expect a licensed local tourist guide to illustrate the beauties of our country. In this website you will find a list of places that you can discover during free guided tours that will take place over the almost ten days dedicated to the celebration of International Tourist Guide Day. Once you find the location you are interested in, you will be able to choose which itineraries to follow, combining art-related events, visits to workshops and to maestros of the culinary art who will open the doors to local cuisine.
