27/10/2014. DAILY PRESS BULLETIN (1) RECOVERY OF ARM: - On 23/10/2014 at about 2230hours, Policemen attached to Igando Division responded to distress call and recovered one locally made pistol abandoned by some hoodlums on a motorcycle who attempted to rob Radiant Church International Ikotun. The case is under investigation at Ikotun Division. (2) FIRE INCIDENT: - On 25/10/2014 at about 0100hrs, fire gutted a branch of Union Bank at Federal Secretariat Ikoyi. The fire was put out by teams of Policemen and fire fighters mobilized to the scene. The cause of fire is suspected to be electric spark and the value of property destroyed is yet to be ascertained. No life was lost and the case is under investigation at Ikoyi Division. (3) ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF ARM: - On 18/10/2014 at about 0400hrs, Policemen attached to Ayobo Division on patrol along Asimpa/Amule Road Ayobo, arrested one Fatai Elufawo ‘m’ and Olarewaju ‘m’ both of no fixed address. A locally made single barrel gun with two live cartridges, wraps of weed suspected to be cannabis, one cutlass and two bottles of charms were recovered from the suspect. The case is now under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation Yaba. (4) RECOVERY OF ARM AND AMMUNITION/SUSPECTED STOLEN VEHICLE: - On 26/10/2014 at about 2105hrs, along Ogunlana Street Egbeda, gang of armed robbers operating in a Volkswagen Passat S/Car with Reg. No. RSH 07 EH hit a Toyota Sienna Space Bus with reg. No. KRD-GHF-DC from the rear. The hoodlums attacked the space bus and attempted to rob the driver, one Anthony Ibeh ‘m’ of No.28, Akinremi Street, Anifowoshe Ikeja. The armed robbers fled and abandoned the Passat car on sighting the Police patrol team mobilized to the scene. One locally made double barrel gun and one live cartridge were recovered inside the vehicle. The case is under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation Yaba.
