27-Jun-2014: Did a loop hike of about 6.5 miles which included a traverse of Mt. Mansfields ridge from The Nose to The Chin, plus a short side trip to Adams Apple. The loop consisted of Haselton Trail and Long Trail (northbound) to Rt. 108, then a 0.5 mile road walk back to starting point. HASELTON TRAIL: Wooded most of way, but becomes open and treeless when it joins Nose Dive Ski trail at its upper end. LONG TRAIL: Portion that traverses Mt. Mansfield ridgeline is truly stunning! Its somewhat like doing a NH Franconia Ridge walk. (y) Between Adams Apple and Rt. 108, the Long Trail is a long, moderately steep and rocky trek through a forested corridor.
