28/8:The panniers have been delivered by UPS at 1145 am. We are rolling onto the interstate highway I-90 East at 1215. The sun is shining full force and the temperature is up to 29degC. I decide to ride in my T shirt only and it id perfect to ride without the heavy jacket. Ever so gradually the mountainous terrain makes way for a broken craggy plateau. 10 miles out of Billings I-90 East heads South and we merge onto I-94 East. The farm land of Eastern Montana alternates from green to gold. Corn, Sunflower, and Wheat harvested land is interspersed with grazing pastures and alfalfa fodder. The terrain is more flat now and after leaving the I -90 the traffic has thinned out considerably. The fuel and lunch stop comes at 245 pm in the small cow town of Miles City MT. Bassanto is not behaving 100%. For the first time on this trip the low fuel warning light on Bassanto comes on earlier than BG. Between fuel stops we check and she is doing 47MPG as opposed to 70+ that it should be doing. Probably one plug is not firing properly. We will see tomorrow. The servicing in Seattle has created more problems for Bassanto than solutions. Around 7 pm we move from the mountain time zone to Central Time Zone. At 830 pm we exit for the small town of Glen Ullin. And find a quaint hotel by the name of Broken Spoke. 379 miles in 7.5hrs. We grab some chow at the local eatery.
