28) Reeny Ra One of Frank Zappas bands never toured, and this is the one, hailing from 1975. They rehearsed, but for some reason they never made a debut on the stage or on record until recently. This artifact is from the album Joes Camouflage, released this year. The band consisted of FZ—guitar, vocals Denny Walley—guitars, vocals Robert Frog Camarena—vocals, guitar Novi Novog—viola, keyboards, vocals Napoleon Murphy Brock—vocals, sax, keyboards Roy Estrada—bass, vocals Terry Bozzio—drums Walley had performed with The Mothers on the Zappa/Beefheart tour earlier that year. Camerena was with the band Ruben & The Jets that Zappa discovered and produced in 1973, and Novog was with the group Chunky, Novi and Ernie. After they parted ways, the remaining members Zappa, Estrada, Bozzio and Brock were joined by the keyboardist and singer Andre Lewis for a tour of the U.S. and elsewhere. TG #DailyZappa
