28 years ago today, the Thein Well softball team traveled to Dooleys for some fun after our weekly game vs the Byron Frank-n-Stein team in the Douglas Saloon league (which consisted of exactly us two teams facing each other every week). Once there, John Sandstrom abandoned his teammates to sit down with a table of girls. Since I found one of those girls to be really pretty, I decided to throw pennies at John and her from across the room to get their attention. Somehow, this worked and they allowed me to join them. Turns out that John knew this pretty girl from Winona State and she didnt mind having pennies thrown at her. We hit it off, I asked her out, she said yes and shes still wondering why 28-years later. Right, Jenni Thein?!?
