2nd Sunday of Lent:::The Transfiguration of the Lord Mt 17:1-9 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.Mt 17:1-2 His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. Rev 1:16b While Peter was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” Lk 9:34-35 +The Transfiguration of the Lord in Mt Tabor witnessed by the Three Apostles gave them(and to us) encouragement,faith, hope in the coming Disfiguration of the Lord in the Cross on Calvary,which did not end there but to His Resurrection and Glorification,though all left Him except St. John. Thats why St, John preached:.. we beheld His glory... Jn 1:14 and St. Peter Confirmed ; For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.2 Pet 1:16 I charge you 14 to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. 1 Tim 6:14-16
