3/26/14 All of the female cats that were taken to be spayed yesterday were pregnant! Several were early pregnancy and we made the hard decision to terminate the pregnancies. In rescue we do know that there are just not enough homes for all the kittens that will be born this year. With this colony alone we are trying to place about 35 cats already, we could not afford to add another 20 kittens to that. We hate doing it but we know we are doing the best we can. We did have 2 females that were late term pregnancies that we could not terminate. One has found a wonderful foster that will be able to keep her until after she gives birth and weans the babies. We need one more foster for a momma that will have 3 babies in the next 7-14 days. If you can help by fostering her please contact us at Meowstories@gmail as soon as possible. It is VITAL that we continue trapping these cats and getting them spayed/neutered BEFORE more kittens are conceived or born. Please share and donate!
