3/29 Friends Of Freeport Saturday, FRIENDS will work as one to kick off the season for GREEN THUMBS! The project will be a cooperative effort with the families and staff of Giblyn School. As you may recall, Giblyn was hit very hard by Sandy. The district was able to restore the school for students and staff as we all witnessed when the reopening was covered by many news channels. The courtyard, however, has not been restored yet. Join the families of Giblyn, educators throughout the village, and FRIENDS to help restore the courtyard to an area of inspiration and learning. Green Thumbs will lead the charge working in coordination with the school. Lets all make Freeport more beautiful through it gardens for our youngest residents! Join us at South Ocean Ave. and Front St. to begin greening this great place we call home. Grab your rake, garden tools, a friend, and a RED shirt! We kick off this first great Spring Green Thumb Friends of Freeport event at 9 am.
