3 November 1943 the Nazis murder around 43,000 Jews - the last survivors from the Lublin region - in the camps at Majdanek, Poniatowa and Trawniki. In the latter case, the killing was completed on 4 November owing to resistance. People in other camps such as Budzyń, Kraśnik and in the centre of Lublin were taken to the nearest killing point. This massacre, alongside many others, clearly demonstrates that winning the war was second to murdering the Jews. Most Jews were working as slaves in industries which were directly or indirectly related to the war such as clothing production or supplying services to agriculture and in both cases there was already a shortage of labour even before the massacre. This massacre came about following the revolts in Treblinka and Sobibór death camps as well as revolts in Warsaw and Białystok ghettos. The below film shows an overview of the Majdanek concentration camp where 18,400 people were shot on that day. The killings took place close to where the flying saucer shaped monument stands today. The murderers tried to keep it a secret by playing loud music although of course the entire camp would have known what was going on, as did those that lived nearby. https://youtube/watch?v=gIZwkDR1Sx0
