3 hour Rant.... To Eric Walsh: My Father always taught me: If everyone in church loves you then you are doing something wrong. Dear Eric, The only reason why your story is being circulated is because it was published by a major newspaper. I commend you for standing up for what you believe is true and heralding the gospel. Truth be told if you stand up and preach the truth in spite of... this is suppose to happen to you. Almost every sermon preached (especially with Facebook and twitter around) you will always have someone there who disagree because you either stepped on their toes or they wish they were the one to have said it. Then you always have your Monday morning quarterbacks with the shoulda coulda woulda. Then you have the fact checkers to discredit the where and forget the real point of the matter. Then you have the wannabe preachers/pastors who make sure to meet you at the back to make their points known in the shaking hands line... or to critique your sermon at the Sabbath Dinner table, like some fool did last week not knowing that the whole house was full with family members... Jackass...you did not see my picture on the fridge or the living room table? The best preachers struggle with the sermons they are sent to preach. They may not necessarily want to preach the sermon but God uses ordinary people to get what he wants done...DONE. So this is not just secular... this goes on in the church when elders and preachers preach solid messages that makes people say hmmm. Sermons are to be unpopular...riveting...and sometimes nerve racking.. Thats why King got killed...thats why Medgar got gunned down...and Malcom riddled... most of all Thats Why Jesus was crucified.. For all of those preachers (not necc pastors) who get up and speak the message in order to change lives including their own... remember its not the Amens...or the hand claps...or the shouts that make is successful. Its when its over and you cant keep your eyes open because you were spent and possessed by the Holy Spirit... its when you are so tired that you literally think your gonna die... its those sermons where you feel like your such a hypocrite for preaching what you are fighting through..but Gods still uses nobodies to bring people to the cross. So Eric.... I am proud they decided to pull you from speaking. It simply mean you stood for something. And dont be bothered by it. Some conferences have a blacklist not to allow truth preachers in the pulpit... so work for the night is coming...when mans work is over.
