3 weeks before the deadline of my project paper, my laptop - TopicsExpress

3 weeks before the deadline of my project paper, my laptop crashed. Everything I worked hard for in the past 11 months, disappeared - or at least, a substantial part of it. It took me one week to get my laptop up and working, leaving me with only 2 to finalize my one-year paper of 6 credit hours. I submitted my paper at the 11th hour, literally. My supervisor had to wait for me. Seeing me in a fluster, he asked ...why so last minute? in the most frustrated of tones. I didnt manage to utter much. I thought, to dwell on how my laptop had crashed and how I did not back up such important files will serve only to make me look worse. More importantly, as tragic as they may sound - they are (to me) no more than cliche excuses. I could not let myself go down that path... but little did I know, I was already down that path. My take-way here is: #1 Always always always back up #2 Never say never - its not over until you say it so #3 Last minute is a no-no. You need to give yourself that leeway to accommodate unforeseeable mishaps No words can describe how I felt seeing that A with a big fat + in my results. I can only say I am beyond glad that I did not give up - even when all odds were against me, when hope was waning. On a side note, Gender Law (External and Internal - but mostly Internal) is what prep-ed me (mentally, spiritually, intellectually, and physically) for Project Paper. Heh! There you go, my big fat tips - right there.
