3 years ago today I woke up feeling amazing! I was sober for a week and things were looking good, I had a job interview and my mom was showing signs that she was getting better... Half way through my interview my phone kept going off and I finally answered it to hear my sisters voice crying, Mike you have to call the hospital, moms dying -what?! She was just fine yesterday... I rushed to the hospital with my brother Clinton and made it to ICU Wake up mom we gotta go home.. Bro wake her up! Cmon mom please we need to go home now, remember you said you would never leave me.. I still need you please dont leave me... Looking around the room at everyone HELP HER SHES DYING get up we needa go mom 😢 As I hugged her body I felt the last breath on my neck and heard her last heart beat I knew than that she was gone.. For a whole year just about every single day after she passed away I drank, to the point where I was hooked up to IVs just about every week, I was damaging my insides from all the hard liquor, so throwing up blood was normal to me.. I lost my house, my daughter my whole life basically until I decided that I needed to change! I was on the path to killing myself and I would have succeeded too! But my daughter opened up my eyes and Im proud to say that in 4 days on August 8th it will be my 2 years of sobriety mark!! 😊 Im finally alive and I feel amazing! My life is getting better everyday and thats because Im working at it! Now I travel the world as a motivational speaker and inspire others to want better for themselves 😄 Change is possible! Im living proof of that and so are you! So today please dont take your life for granted because u will never know when u will lose the people that mean the most to you!
