30/10/14// UFBU observes ALL INDIA Protest A Seniors Appeal to the Youth (Shri Padam Singh Tanwar Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank) Wage settlement is being discussed in various groups… the members are expressing their views on delay in wage settlement, structure, pay commission etc. There are numerous rumours going on wherein false information is being spread by some vested interest to sabotage the ongoing agitation. One view has been created that the interest of youngsters is being over looked and only interest of the old is being preferred. I have been requesting youngsters to read the charter of demands to understand the issues involved. The comments being posted on various posts are either based on hearsay and without understanding the issues of wage settlement. Certain members even use foul language to express their views- they suggest that all the elders in the banking industry have become irreverent and need not to be benefited by wage settlement. In my last post, which was purely an informative? One of the friends made comments which I feel was not warranted. One of the old colleagues had demanded that there needs to be improvement in medical / hospitalization for retired employees. The comments made by a youngster was aggressive and lacking logic. He commented “Wali Ji nobody thinks about the Youngsters pls concentrates on Ajodhia Kaul Jis Demand. Why should newcomers join the agitation when they know the truth that all leaders are trying to make their post retirement life peaceful on the cost of working one”. These reactions lack rationale and the persons making such comments forget that every employee is to retire from the bank service one day or the other. And elders have given more than 30 to 35 years of their life to the Banking Industry. Young friends are concerned only with one part of the settlement – that is monetary forgetting that non monetary issues are more important. The Government of India has increased the FDI limit in the Banking sector. These steps of the Government will have affect on job security. Another bill which is at final stage is the reforms in labour laws and apprentice act. Dear friends try to place views on non monetary issues too and those can be understood by reading and understanding the complete Charter of Demand. . Today we had successful nationwide Dharna and protest rallies Agitation is entering next phase with the strike on 12th November, 2014.
