30 Days of Thanksgiving Day 7 If you commit to giving thanks - TopicsExpress

30 Days of Thanksgiving Day 7 If you commit to giving thanks every day for 30 days, sooner or later you run into the opposition. The opposition may be apathy, complicated circumstances, lack of time, resentment, maybe even the Devil himself. Call it what you will - spiritual warfare, Murphys law, inertia, or the laws of Thermodynamics - you start off feeling thankful, and you indulge that feeling, but something will happen as day follows day that makes the feeling taper off. And then what? If you know whats good for you, you fight through it. Today I dont feel so thankful. I still have a broken tooth. Im physically and emotionally tired. A bit sick at heart. My vehicle has an electrical problem. Im dealing with fallout from the tempest of yesterday, second-guessing myself, and I dont have my planning done for Gravity tonight. This day, like yesterday, is FUBAR. So here we go... To my knowledge, nobody I know died yesterday, or suffered any permanent injury. Thanks. When I had to make a judgment call yesterday, with a lot at stake, I made the right one. Thanks. When I needed to be as wise as my father yesterday, I came pretty damned close. Thanks. When the electrical system flaked out on my Explorer at one oclock this morning, I didnt end up in a ditch. Thanks. It could really be a whole hell of a lot worse. A HELL of a lot worse. Its not. Thanks.
