30 day outlook - long range forecast Outlook for 1st May – 15th May There will be a mixture of conditions across the country during this period. Through the first part of the period conditions, after some heavy showers on Thursday and Friday, will be mostly settled before turning slowly more unsettled once again as low pressure begins to dominate proceedings in to next week, bringing showers or spells of rain to many. Through the rest of the period conditions will remain rather mixed, with low pressure dominating conditions through next week before periods of higher and lower pressure alternate through the remainder of the period. The best of any drier periods will be across Southern and Eastern parts with higher pressure close by, whilst lower pressure remains close to the North-West of the UK. Temperatures through the period will be mixed, with temperatures falling away during times of lower pressure, especially at first with a risk of overnight frost in the North, but generally temperatures will be close to the seasonal average. Outlook for 16th May – 31st May Whilst the forecast signal at this stage heralds greater than average uncertainty this period currently looks likely to be a little more settled once again. The best of the settled conditions will be across the Southern half of the country with areas further North prone to showers and less settled conditions at times. Temperatures will be hugely variable through the period too with the mildest conditions like to be across Southern areas. Therefore temperatures are likely to finish close to average with precipitation also close to average. Forecast Updated: 18:40 on Wednesday 30th April 2014
