30 for 30: #24: Lady Gaga. 2008. Thats when I learned to just dance, because then itll be okay. Granted, I kind of knew that already, but when that message is combined into synth-pop, WELL THEN. Needless to say, Gaga appealed to me in many ways: pop music, ridiculousness, and it tickled my love of crazy girls. The songs were fun, and for awhile they were fast and furious: Poker Face, Paparazzi, Love Game, Bad Romance, Alejandro, Telephone, etc. All of them having fun beats and being great to jam to when you hear them. Ive never seen her in concert (and Im not paying crazy prices to do so) yet, but I bet the show is a blast to go to. Add into the fact that her songs kept popping up in the middle of my Rock Band/Just Dance video game prime and she just represents a lot of fun memories. I even enjoy her new stuff. She still has that familiar sound thats pleasing to my ear. While I wouldnt say Im one of her little monsters, Im probably in the level behind them. Shes fun and shes great.
