30 years of Johnny G Lyon / JGLB. We started JGLB in April 1985. we had no idea what would happen. But when we played, our friends came to spend time with us, and we made new friends too. And pretty girls would dance when we played. Pretty soon it made sense to concentrate on being a working dance band. So that is primarily what were known for, still today. But we also never stopped writing and recording our own songs too. So that is also a big part of who we are and what we do. Im proud of 30 years of Johnny G Lyon / JGLB. Im gonna be talking about it some over the next few weeks and months. And Tommy, Benny, of course Jay Friss AKA Ray Blade and I will be playing a couple of gigs coming up, and we hope youll consider attending. Heres a video of one of the four songs we wrote when we first started JGLB back in the spring of 1985. In this video you can see many of the 20-25 people who have been in JGLB over these last 30 years, including founding members Jay Friss AKA Ray Blade and Johnny G Lyon, both of whom are still with the band.
