#3077 In response to a comment on a previous post. I have as a cis gay man felt alienated from the larger lgbt community by the extremely vocal and dominant gender-queer contingent of the community. I have had many discussions with my peers who feel much the same way, especially following the Dan Savage controversy. We say nothing because it is easier to do so, but know that what you are doing is making many members of the community feel, to use your word, unsafe and unwelcome in the very spaces that are meant to include them. To be feel marginalized from a marginal group for being too mainstream while simultaneously being marginalized from the mainstream is incredibly hurtful. Please just calm down. I love and accept you all and ask only that you do not attach your message onto those who may not share it simple because you believe that they should
