30th Anniversary Supported Charity - Croydon Depot. Time to tell everyone a bit more about the third and final charity we are supporting at our 30th anniversary open days. The Development Community Centre has been chosen by staff at our Croydon Depot. Croydon based driver Ndjibu Muluba is from the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2004 he decided to help the people where he originally lived who have been affected by famine, disease and civil war. Out of his own money he bought a plot of land in one of the poorest districts of Kinshasa and with his own hands in his spare time, built a school for local children including orphans where they could learn. Despite very basic facilities with no electricity or glass, over 600 children have now passed through the school. However without any state funding for poor or orphaned children it relies on fundraising to continue, and develop in to a better facility. All the proceeds from Metrobus sold merchandise at the Croydon depot will be donated to the Development Community Centre. Please help us support this worthy cause when you visit Croydon Depot on Saturday 21st September.
